    • Joseph came to America at the age of 12. His parents settled in Glencoe, MN first and then moved to the farm in Hale Township. "The house" was a small building back in the woods which was later converted to a chicken house when the new farmhouse
      was built. Joseph first met Josie when she came from South Dakota to visit her sister, Amelia, near Hutchinson, MN.
